礼来公司因每周一次的胰岛素产品获得FDA认可Onswik

- Eli Lilly (LLY) on Thursday announced that the U.S. FDA approved its once-weekly basal insulin product, Onswik, for adults with type 2 diabetes to be used with diet and exercise for the control of high blood sugar.
- The decision is supported by data from the company’s QWINT Phase 3 clinical trials in which Onswik reached the primary endpoint, showing a comparable efficacy level to once-daily insulin products, insulin glargine U-100 (glargine), or insulin degludec U-100 (degludec).
- According to the Indiana-based pharma giant, Onswik has the potential to cut more than 300 insulin injections annually compared with once-daily basal insulin. The decision marked the fourth global regulatory action favoring the product after similar approvals in Europe, Mexico, and Japan.
- The company expects to launch Onswik in the coming months in two concentrations: 500 units/mL and 1,000 units/mL.
