英国监管机构调查联合利华食品业务以650亿美元收购麦考密克

2026-09-16 17:28

  • Britain’s competition regulator on Wednesday opened an investigation into Unilever’s (UL) $65B food business merger with U.S. spice maker McCormick (MKC), examining whether the deal could reduce competition in the UK.
  • Phase 1 decision deadline is set for Nov. 11, 2026.
  • If the deal goes through, it would create one of the world's largest flavorings and food products companies, combining household brands such as Knorr, Hellmann's, French's, and Frank's RedHot as food manufacturers seek scale to offset rising costs and changing consumer demand.
  • The deal, announced in March, will leave Unilever ( UL) and its shareholders owning 65% of the fully diluted equity of the combined company, including a 9.9% stake to be held directly by Unilever, while McCormick shareholders will own the remaining 35%.
  • UL shares are down 1.1% premarket.
