三星、英伟达和贝莱德以创纪录的30亿欧元融资支持Mistral AI

- French AI startup Mistral has secured €3B in new funding at a valuation of ~€21B ($24B), marking the largest-ever equity round for a private European tech company.
- Mistral said that the round was jointly led by existing investor PSG Equity, along with South Korea's Samsung Electronics (SSNLF) and the EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund, which both invested in it for the first time.
- The fundraising makes Mistral Europe's second-highest-valued private tech group and the fastest-growing company in Europe, its chief financial officer, Johan Bergqvist, told Reuters.
- He said that the funds will be used to power Mistral's models and invest in so-called frontier research, as the company seeks to compete with larger rivals.
- Mistral said Advent, funds, and accounts managed by BlackRock (BLK) as well as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg joined the round as new investors. Existing investors a16z, ASML (ASML), Belfius, BNP Paribas CIB, Bpifrance, Carmignac, DST Global, Eurazeo, General Catalyst, Headline, Hillspire, Index Ventures, Korelya Capital, Lightspeed, NVIDIA (NVDA), Phoenix Court's Solar fund (home to LocalGlobe, Latitude, and Solar); and Salesforce (CRM) Ventures participated in the round.
- Mistral is considered Europe's best chance of developing a leading AI company, even though it is dwarfed by U.S. rivals including Anthropic (ANTHRO), whose valuation is nearly 40 times bigger at $965B, and OpenAI (OPENAI), valued at $852B.
- The company now operates across 20 countries and supports 125+ global enterprises’ mission-critical AI transformation, including Airbus, ASML, and HSBC.
