Silicon Motion Technology (SIMO) plans to offer $800M of 0% convertible senior notes due 2031 in a private offering to qualified institutional buyers.
The notes will mature on August 15, 2031, and will not pay regular interest. The company may also issue up to an additional $120M of notes.
Silicon Motion plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes and to repay outstanding debt.
SIMO shares fell -5.5% premarket to $242.
