EchoStar的Hughes Network准备根据第11章申请破产:报告

- Hughes Network Systems, owned by Charlie Ergen’s EchoStar (ECHO), is preparing to file for bankruptcy within days, the Wall Street Journal reported.
- The consumer satellite internet company is preparing to file for Chapter 11 to avoid paying a $1.5 billion debt maturity due on Aug. 1. As of March 31, Hughes had just $102 million in cash on hand, according to an earnings report published in May.
- EchoStar unit DISH DBS and its DISH Wireless subsidiaries filed for prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June following a restructuring support agreement backed by over 88% of noteholders.
