MISTRAS Group (MG) announced on Thursday expanded capabilities at its Los Angeles laboratory to support commercial and military aerospace and defense customers.
The expansion added machining, welding, rework, and inspection capabilities.
New equipment includes two CNC machines, 3-ton vertical turning centers, and advanced inspection systems to expand capacity and better support customers.
The lab also supports forgings, castings, weldments, composites, plate, bar, billet, and machined products.
The investment follows recently announced upgrades at the company's Houston laboratory as part of its broader aerospace growth strategy.
MISTRAS said the site is also expected to obtain NADCAP accreditation for welding.
CEO Natalia Shuman said aerospace and defense remains a key long-term growth market, with the investments aimed at expanding capacity and meeting customer demand.
