- Firefly Aerospace (FLY) said on Tuesday it was awarded a $144M contract by NASA under its Commercial Lunar Payload Services, or CLPS, program to deliver three science instruments to the Moon in 2028.
- The mission will use the company's Blue Ghost lunar lander and marks Firefly's sixth contracted lunar mission.
- Firefly said it expects to complete the mission in about two years, roughly half the time taken for its first Blue Ghost mission, by using a standardized lander design and incorporating lessons from its successful lunar landing.
- The company said the mission supports NASA's Artemis program and long-term plans for a sustained lunar presence.
- Stock up +2.5% in aftermarket trading.
