Lockheed Martin's (LMT) business area, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, won a $177.5M contract modification for F-35 flight science aircraft support.
The contract covers building and delivering 3 new F-35 test jets (A, B, and C variants) with full engineering support for effective flight testing for Block 4 and future upgrades of the Joint Strike Fighter program.
The work is expected to be completed by April 2031.
At award, about $37.7M from Air Force, Navy R&D, and F-35 partners combined will be obligated and will expire by the end of the current fiscal year.
The contract is managed by Naval Air Systems Command.
