- Coherent (NYSE:COHR) showed off its next-generation instruments for testing optical networks on Wednesday, as it looks to boost growth in the red-hot sector.
- The WaveAnalyzer 200B Portable Optical Spectrum Analyzer and the WaveShaper 500B/X Programmable Optical Filter are Coherent's latest tools, with the 200B offering being the only battery-powered portable analyzer in the market. It can do two full sweeps across the entire Super C-Band, letting engineers check the quality of networks.
- Conversely, the WaveShaper 500B/X allows for flexibility of production testing of optical transceivers, testing the signal on Super C-Band and Super L-Bands. It also offers a load time of less than 100 milliseconds, Coherent added.
- “These new instruments build on Coherent’s proven leadership in optical network test and measurement,” said Dr. Ralf Stolte, Sr. Sales and Marketing Manager in a statement. “By combining accuracy, speed, and portability, they enable our customers to keep pace with the demands of next-generation communications.”
- The WaveAnalyzer 200B will begin shipping in November 2025, while the WaveShaper 500B/X is built on Coherent’s Liquid Crystal on Silicon platform.
- Coherent shares closed down 1% on Wednesday.
