Chegg解决FTC“难以取消”的投诉
2025-09-15 23:14
- Chegg (NYSE:CHGG) has agreed to pay $7.5M to settle a complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission that the company made it difficult for customers to cancel subscriptions.
- While the educational technology company disagrees with the FTC’s allegations, it settled with the agency to “avoid prolonged litigation,” a Chegg spokesperson said to Reuters.
- The FTC contends Chegg (NYSE:CHGG) frustrated customers by making cancellations “difficult and confusing,” with options hidden behind a labyrinth of menus. Regulators point to a 2021 email from CEO Nathan Schultz suggesting there “should be some pain involved” in cancelling subscriptions.
- Chegg (NYSE:CHGG) shares are down another 6% on Monday, bringing its three-day loss to 14%.
