ANI Pharmaceuticals, Alimera Sciences deal set to close Monday

ANI Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ANIP) and Alimera Sciences (ALIM) announced that their deal is scheduled to close before the market close on Sept. 16, according to a statement on Wednesday. Alimera rose 6.4% in premarket trading.

The statement comes after Alimera (ALIM) said Tuesday it filed a lawsuit against ANI Pharmaceuticals (ANIP) to compel the company to close its acquisition. The news originally sent Alimera shares tumbling as much as 22% before they pared a decline to 6.5% after ANI said the company was working in good faith toward closing of the acquisition.

In late June, ANI said it will acquire Alimera (ALIM) for $5.50 per share in cash at closing.
