2024-04-27 02:51
- Kaiser Permanente, the huge non-for-profit managed care company, said it sent, by mistake, information on its members to big tech companies including Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL), and X, formerly known as Twitter
- The data, shared by Kaiser's websites and apps, may have included member names and what they searched for on their computers, Bloomberg reported.
- However, login information, Social Security numbers, and member financial information was not disclosed.
- Kaiser said it would contact 13.4M current and former plan members about the breach over the next month.
- This latest incident comes after February's cyberattack against UnitedHealth Group's Change Healthcare division in which detailed personal information was stolen and the health insurer reportedly paid a ransom payment.
