05:03 PM EDT, 06/27/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management (APO) late Monday said its Athene USA subsidiary has assumed $4.3 billion in pension obligations and related plan assets for around 13,600 pension plan participants at Lockheed Martin (LMT) who are currently receiving retirement benefits from the company.

The company, which previously closed on two other pension transactions with Lockheed since 2018, used its Athene Reinsurance strategic capital vehicle to complete the latest transaction. It now covers more than 40,000 of the aerospace company's retirees with more than $10 billion in pension obligations.
