01:18 PM EDT, 06/14/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Odyssey Marine Exploration (OMEX) said Tuesday it closed a $15 million registered direct offering of equity securities.
The subsea mineral exploration and development company said the proceeds will allow it to deleverage its balance sheet and provide capital for its operations in the next nine to 18 months.

Odyssey said the funds will also be used to self-fund NAFTA-related litigation expenses instead of using existing litigation funders, namely the $2 billion claim against Mexico linked to the denial of a permit for a unit's phosphate project.
