02:40 PM EST, 12/29/2021 (MT Newswires) -- NextGen Acquisition II (NGCA) said Wednesday it changed its name to Virgin Orbit Holdings after completing its merger with space technology company provider Virgin Orbit.

Virgin Orbit's common stock and warrants will start trading on the Nasdaq on Thursday under the symbols VORB and VORBW, respectively. In August, the two companies agreed to merge in a $3.2 billion deal that would take Virgin Orbit public.

NextGen shares were down about 3% in afternoon trading.
