英国撤销基孔肯雅疫苗的上市授权，瓦尔内娃倒闭

- Valneva SE (VALN) is down ~5% in after-hours trading Wednesday after it announced that the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency revoked the marketing authorization for Ixchiq, its chikungunya virus vaccine, over safety concerns.
- The vaccine was launched in the UK in mid-2025 but has been hampered by low sales. It has not been actively distributed in the country in several months.
- Valneva said it would not appeal the decision and expects a minimal financial impact.
- The company defended Ixchiq, saying that an ongoing pilot vaccination strategy in Brazil of more 61,000 vaccinations has found no new safety concerns identified.
- Ixchiq is still available in the EU, Canada, and Brazil. In August 2025, the US FDA suspended the vaccine's license, citing serious adverse events, such as chikungunya-like illness, hospitalizations, and deaths.
