BioNTech (BNTX) is up ~3% in Monday morning trading after posting non-pivotal stage 1 data on median overall survival from a phase 3 trial of gotistobart in squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
Results from the PRESERVE-003 trial found that patients on gotistobart, after failing on immunotherapy and chemotherapy, almost doubled survival compared with standard-of-care chemo.
At data cut-off, with a median follow-up of 25.4 months, median overall survival was 18.5 months for patients treated with gotistobart monotherapy compared to 10 months for patients treated with docetaxel.
Grade ≥3 treatment-related adverse events were reported in 44.4% of patients on gotistobart and 48.8% of patients on docetaxel.
The pivotal stage 2 portion of PRESERVE-003 is under way.
Gotistobart is a CTLA-4-targeting immunotherapy designed to selectively deplete regulatory T cells.
