MannKind Corporation (MNKD) has reached a global licensing and collaboration agreement with Delaware-based Rose Pharma to develop an inhaled GLP-1 therapy designed as a flexible, rapid-acting option for weight management, the companies announced on Wednesday.
As part of the deal, Rose Pharma will receive an exclusive, worldwide license to advance rapid-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist ROSE-010, using MannKind’s (MNKD) Technosphere dry-powder inhalation technology.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to investigate whether ROSE-010 Technosphere offers a flexible approach to weight loss.
In exchange, MannKind (MNKD) will receive an equity stake and board representation in Rose Pharma and the right to receive royalties on net sales of ROSE-010 Technosphere if the drug reaches commercialization. Other financial terms of the deal were not available.
