武田获得rusfertide治疗veria的批准

- The US FDA approved Takeda Pharmaceutical's (TAK) Mimrylo (rusfertide), a first-in-class treatment for the rare blood disorder polycythemia vera.
- Mimrylo works by mimicking hepcidin, a hormone that naturally regulates iron. The drug limits the iron in the body to make new red blood cells, cutting their their overproduction and mainiaining healthy red blood cell levels.
- Approval was based on data from the VERIFY placebo-controlled trial of about 300 adults with PV over 32 weeks. Results showed that 76.9% of patients on Mimrylo didn't need any phlebotomies vs. 32.9% on placebo.
- Mimrylo was granted priority review.
