潘兴退出股份后,赫兹转为负值
2026-08-14 00:19
- Hertz (HTZ) surrendered its Thursday morning gain and slipped into the red after Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management (PS) disclosed it had exited its position in the car rental company in response to an equity offering announced in June.
- Pershing (PS) made the disclosure during its second quarter earnings calls.
- Hertz (HTZ) priced a public offering of ~37M shares of common stock at $2.70 a share tied to an upsized $350M private offering of exchangeable senior notes. The stock was loaned to a share borrower for hedging, and Hertz (HTZ) did not receive any proceeds from the sale.
- Ackman called the sale “bungled” and “unlike anything we’d seen a company do before,” leading to a liquidation of the firm’s position.
