- Tenable (TENB) shares slipped 1.4% in premarket trading on Friday after UBS downgraded the cybersecurity company to Neutral from Buy.
- “Despite the 20% decline [week-to-date], TENB shares are still up ~75% since the Mythos announcement, and in our view still appear to be pricing in HSD/LDD% growth at 13x CY26E uFCF, which would likely require significant upside to 2Q and/or a strong 2H guide for investors to remain confident,” UBS analyst Roger Boyd wrote in a note to clients. “Partners we spoke with were modestly more positive on 2Q demand for TENB/QLYS, albeit on relatively smaller bases, but we heard relatively limited examples of increased spend on VM vendors from customers (despite more internal focus). Secondarily, while we still see Tenable as the leader in VM given its exposure management strategy, OT/IoT differentiation, and remediation capabilities, we heard some anecdotes that Qualys is stepping up competitively, and increasingly competing with a remediation-focused approach, which could be a differentiator in the current environment. And lastly, we see incremental support that AI-assisted software development workflows could ultimately impact vulnerability creation rates over time.”
- Despite the downgrade, Boyd raised his price target on Tenable to $37 from $32.
