- The judge overseeing the legal battle between Elon Musk and Sam Altman and their dueling AI startups has reportedly enlisted a mediator to resolve the dispute.
- US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers late Wednesday issued an order appointing R. David Proctor, a senior federal judge in Alabama, to try to work out a “just, speedy and inexpensive resolution,” Bloomberg reported.
- Elon Musk’s $150B lawsuit against OpenAI and Sam Altman was rejected by a federal jury in May, in a major blow to Musk’s credibility and his effort to become a serious competitor in the artificial intelligence race.
- The nine-member jury, deliberating for less than two hours in U.S. District Court in Oakland, Calif., found that Musk had failed to file his lawsuit within a time frame required by law. The presiding judge, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, dismissed Musk’s claims after the jury’s decision.
