Firefly Aerospace (FLY) said on Tuesday it was awarded a $144M contract by NASA under its Commercial Lunar Payload Services, or CLPS, program to deliver three science instruments to the Moon in 2028.
The mission will use the company's Blue Ghost lunar lander and marks Firefly's sixth contracted lunar mission.
Firefly said it expects to complete the mission in about two years, roughly half the time taken for its first Blue Ghost mission, by using a standardized lander design and incorporating lessons from its successful lunar landing.
The company said the mission supports NASA's Artemis program and long-term plans for a sustained lunar presence.
Stock up +2.5% in aftermarket trading.
