- The White House helped Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) CEO Sundar Pichai and Meta Platforms (META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg avoid Senate hearings regarding child safety, Politico reported.
- In lieu of testimony from Pichai and Zuckerberg, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) agreed to hear testimony from Neal Mohan and Adam Mosseri, the respective heads of YouTube and Instagram, the news outlet added, citing four people with knowledge of the matter. In return, the White House will support a package of bills backed by Grassley, known as the James T. Woods Act, which aims to prevent child exploitation.
- Meta and Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
