Ares Management (ARES) has raised $8.5B for its newest fund investing in esoteric credit, the Financial Times reported, citing Joel Holsinger, co-head of the firm's alternative credit business.
The fund targets complex asset-backed debt.
According to the report, the fundraising exceeds the $6.6B raised for Ares' previous fund in 2023. That earlier vehicle has generated net returns of approximately 16% after fees.
