SpaceX、谷歌讨论轨道数据中心:报告

2026-05-13 00:15

  • SpaceX (SPACE) and Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) are in discussions about using the former's rocket launches to put data centers into space for the latter, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
  • Google is also speaking to other rocket-launch companies about a similar deal, the news outlet added, citing a person familiar with the matter.
  • Google and SpaceX did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
  • Google shares fell in midday trading on Tuesday.
  • The idea to put data centers for AI computing into space has prompted skepticism from many engineers because of the technical challenges posed by building solar-powered AI data centers that circle Earth.
  • However, the idea has continued to gain traction, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has become obsessed with the idea of SpaceX being the first to do it.
  • SpaceX is preparing an initial public offering, which could come as soon as the second quarter of 2026. The company is likely to go public at a valuation of roughly $1.75T, making it one of the largest publicly traded companies.
