Sotera Health (SHC) on Tuesday said it appointed Alton Shader as CEO, effective May 26, as part of a planned leadership transition.
Shader, currently CEO of Viant Medical, will also join the company’s board. He succeeds Michael B. Petras Jr., who will become executive chairman and remain actively involved in strategy, investor relations, and litigation matters.
Sotera said Shader brings more than two decades of healthcare industry experience, with a track record of driving growth and expanding global manufacturing capabilities at Viant. His prior roles include senior leadership positions at Hill-Rom and Baxter International.
Petras, who has led the company since 2016, oversaw consistent revenue growth and guided Sotera through its 2020 Nasdaq listing.
The company said the transition has been planned to ensure continuity, with Petras working closely with Shader during the handover.
Shares up 4% premarket after co beats Q1 top-line and bottom-line estimates.
