Planet、Carbon Mapper将开发以SWIR为重点的Tanager航天器

- Planet Labs PBC (NYSE: PL) on Thursday said it has signed an agreement with Carbon Mapper to design a new version of its Tanager spacecraft focused on shortwave infrared imaging 'SWIR'.
- The upgraded satellite, developed with support from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, will be optimized for detecting methane and other trace gases, with expanded area coverage and maintained resolution.
- Planet said the SWIR-only spacecraft is expected to enhance environmental monitoring applications, including emissions tracking, mineral exploration, and fire detection, and could launch as early as 2028 as part of the broader Tanager constellation program.
- PL +0.79% premarket to $34.35.
