FTC起诉Match Group未经授权共享OkCupid数据

2026-03-30 23:05

  • The Federal Trade Commission said Monday it is suing OkCupid and its affiliate Match Group Americas (MTCH), alleging that the dating app breached its terms of privacy by sharing personal information of its users with a third party.
  • A third-party data recipient had asked the company to share large datasets of OkCupid user photos and related data with it because OkCupid’s founders were financial investors in the third party.
  • OkCupid went on to provide access to nearly three million user photos as well as location and other information without placing any formal or contractual restrictions on how the information could be used.
  • The FTC said as part of the settlement, the parties will be prohibited from misrepresenting their privacy policies and could face monetary penalties for any future violations.
