迦南在加拿大温室启动3兆瓦计算热回收试点

2026-01-06 22:54

  • Canaan (CAN) said on Tuesday it has launched a 3 megawatt proof-of-concept project in Manitoba, Canada, to recover heat from its computing systems for use in greenhouse operations.
  • The project, conducted with Bitforest Investment Ltd, will deploy liquid-cooled Avalon computing servers to supply supplemental heat to a greenhouse by preheating water for electric boilers through a closed-loop heat exchange system. The initial term of the agreement is 24 months.
  • Canaan said it expects about 90% of the electricity consumed by the computing servers to be captured and reused as heat, subject to actual operating conditions.
  • The company said the pilot is part of its broader effort to improve energy efficiency and evaluate agricultural applications for compute heat recovery.
  • CAN is -0.65% to $0.8312.
