Netflix names Mattel and Hasbro for K-Pop Demon Hunters toys

2025-10-22 04:47

Building on the massive success of KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix (NFLX) has teamed up with Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT) and Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) to roll out a broad range of merchandise — from toys and games to collectibles and role-play products — based on characters from its top-ranked film.

Both companies have been named global co-master toy licensee for KPop Demon Hunters merchandise with Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT) developing and marketing a full range of KPop Demon Hunters-themed products, including dolls, action figures, and playsets, while Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) will market plush toys, electronics, and a MONOPOLY game featuring characters from the movie. The game is now available online at Amazon (AMZN), Target (TGT), and Walmart (WMT).

The remaining KPop Demon Hunters merchandise from Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS) and Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT) will be available at retail beginning spring 2026 through the 2026 holiday season.

The animated film is produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation (SONY)  featuring characters inspired by real-life Korean pop groups like Blackpink and ITZY.

Fans can currently get their favorite KPop Demon Hunter figurines from Funko (FNKO), as well as custom-made dolls from Etsy (ETSY) creators.

Netflix (NFLX) covered the film’s $100M production costs and acquired distribution rights from Sony (SONY) for $20M, a deal that paid off as the movie went on to become the streamer’s most-watched release.

Shares of Hasbro (HAS) and Mattel (MAT) are both higher Tuesday, trading with a gain of more than 2%.
