  • Swiss watch exports fell in September, weighed down by the Trump administration’s 39% tariff on imports from Switzerland to the U.S., the industry’s largest market.
  • Exports fell 3.1% year-on-year to 2 billion Swiss francs ($2.5 billion), the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry said Tuesday.
  • While most  markets recorded strong growth in September, a sharp 55.6% drop in the United States offset those gains.
  • In detail, the United Kingdom rose to the top of the ranking, with growth of 15.2%; conversely, Japan continued on a downward trend (-7.9%), though the decline was more moderate than during the previous four months.
  • Related tickers: LVMH (OTCPK:LVMUY), Swatch Group (OTCPK:SWGAY), Watches of Switzerland Group (OTCPK:WOSGF), Movado (MOV), Hermes (OTCPK:HESAY), Essilor Luxottica (OTCPK:ESLOY), Compagnie Financière Richemont (OTCPK:CFNCF), Tapestry (TPR), Fossil Group (FOSL), and Farfetch (OTC:FTCHQ).
