Food group Nestle (OTCPK:NSRGY) plans to cut 16,000 jobs as new CEO Philipp Navratil aims to accelerate business transformation and drive cost savings in a bid to turn the company around.
The reductions, which would amount to about 6% of the workforce, will be made over the next two years, the KitKat candy bars maker said on Thursday.
The ‘Fuel for Growth’ initiative aims to deliver CHF 3.0 billion in savings by the end of 2027, according to the company's presentation, where it also confirmed its full-year guidance.
The company's shares rose 1.5% on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
