Viking Holdings (NYSE:VIK) has taken delivery of two new river ships with itineraries that include Central and Eastern Europe, and the Nile River.
The Viking Honir is the newest longship with the capacity to host 190 guests in 95 staterooms. The ship was built specifically to navigate the Rhine, Main, and Danube Rivers. During its first year, the Honir will sail through Eastern Europe, the Rhine River, and on Viking’s Christmas on the Rhine cruise.
The Viking Thoth -- a sister ship to the Viking Osiris, Aton, Sobek, and Hathor ships -- can host 82 guests in 41 staterooms, and was built specifically to navigate the Nile River for Viking’s Pharaohs and Pyramids itinerary.
The two new river ships add to Viking’s (NYSE:VIK) goal to take delivery of 23 additional river ships by 2028 and 10 additional ocean ships by 2031, bringing Viking’s (NYSE:VIK) fleet to 112 river ships by 2028 and 23 ocean and expedition ships by 2031.
