Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) is resuming production at a platform at the Tupi oilfields, one of the company's two biggest fields off the Brazilian coast, after completing work requested by Brazil's oil regulator, Bloomberg reported Monday.
Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) is restarting the Cidade de Angra dos Reis floating production vessel, which produced 43,951 bbl/day in January at the Tupi field before it was shut the following month by Brazil's oil regulator for safety concerns, according to the report.
Tupi is Brazil's second-largest producing field after it was surpassed earlier this year by Buzios, where Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) is preparing to start production at its seventh FPSO.
The country's overall production rose sharply during this year's H1 but has stabilized at ~4 million bbl/day in recent months, according to data from Brazil's National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels.
