DoorDash被任命为Yelp的第三方送货合作伙伴;推出送货机器人“Dot”

Yelp (NYSE:YELP) has tapped DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) to be its preferred partner for restaurant deliveries, connecting Yelp’s (NYSE:YELP) high-intent audience with DoorDash’s (NASDAQ:DASH) restaurant inventory.
The news lifted shares of both companies at Tuesday’s open while dragging Uber (UBER) shares into the red.
“Millions of people come to Yelp every day to find a restaurant, and we’re thrilled to give them even more choice and convenience when they want to order takeout and delivery,” said Chad Richard, senior vice president of business and corporate development at Yelp.
The partnership begins on October 1. For restaurants that are not on the DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) marketplace, Yelp (NYSE:YELP) will maintain existing delivery partnerships.
Separately, DoorDash (NASDAQ:DASH) unveiled its new delivery robot, Dot, built to navigate bike lanes, roads, and sidewalks for local deliveries.
All-electric Dot can reach speeds of 20 mph to maintain food quality, while small enough to negotiate driveways and doorways.
The robot will be initially deployed in Tempe and Mesa, Arizona.
