Beam Global (NASDAQ:BEEM) has been granted a U.S. patent for its Intelligent Battery Thermal Management (iBTM) system.
The iBTM enables fast charging of lithium-ion batteries in extreme cold by preheating them efficiently.
The system integrates resistive heating with proprietary Phase Change Composite material for dynamic thermal control. It helps prevent degradation issues like lithium plating and SEI breakdown during cold-weather fast charging.
Early tests showed a 10°C temperature rise in under three minutes, enabling safe charging in ultra-low temps.
iBTM is fully integrated with smart battery management and power electronics for real-time control and monitoring.
The technology improves battery safety, extends cycle life, and is suitable for electric vehicles, defense, and energy storage applications.
BEEM shares up 2.7% premarket on Tuesday.
