Beta Technologies, a U.S. electric-aircraft developer backed by Amazon, has submitted paperwork to go public via a U.S. IPO, seeking to capitalize on the strong equity market environment.
The company, which designs and produces electric aircraft, propulsion systems, charging infrastructure, and related components, said its ALIA CTOL model has already flown thousands of missions across North America and Europe.
Beta claims its aircraft offer about 42% lower operating costs than conventional planes, thanks to a simplified engineering approach that omits complex systems like gearboxes and thrust vectoring.
The proposed shares would list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “BETA,” with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs serving as lead underwriters.
