Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) will recall over 123,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a risk that trim pieces on the driver and passenger windows can detach, causing a potential road hazard to other vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Saturday.
The U.S. auto safety regulator attributed the issue to inadequately secured quarter trim on the driver and passenger windows and added that development work is underway to find a remedial measure to address the defect.
The recall will affect 123,396 vehicles manufactured by the Netherlands-headquartered firm between 2022 and 2024 under its Chrysler Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, Reuters reported, citing the NHTSA.
The announcement comes close on the heels of another major recall disclosed by NHTSA last week for nearly 164,000 Stellantis (NYSE:STLA)-made vehicles due to improperly installed door trim on the driver and passenger sides.
