S&P Global, Morningstar stocks slide after FactSet guidance disappoints

2025-09-19 05:11

Market data firms S&P Global (NYSE:SPGI) stock slid 6.7% and Morningstar (NASDAQ:MORN) stock fell 6.1% in Thursday regular-hours trading after FactSet (FDS) issued softer-than-desired FY2026 revenue guidance while the company's Q4 2025 earnings failed to meet the consensus estimates.

Nasdaq (NDAQ), which also has a market analytics division, fell 4.5%, Thomson Reuters (TRI) dipped 5.1%, and MSCI (MSCI), known for its market indexes, slipped 3.9% during the session.

Tradeweb Markets (TW), another company in the financial exchanges and data sector, lost 4.0% as Rothschild &  Co.'s Redburn downgraded the stock to Neutral, on the premise that its valuation doesn't yet fully reflect a muted growth outlook.
