- A United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL) flight from Japan to the Philippines was forced to make an emergency landing at Tokyo’s Kansai International Airport early Friday morning (ET) as a result of a fire in the Boeing (NYSE:BA) 737’s cargo hold.
- Of the 142 passengers and crew aboard the flight, two were reportedly injured.
- After departing from Tokyo, the plane turned back towards Japan after 50 minutes. Once landing at Kansai, the plane’s emergency landing gear was deployed.
- United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL) shares are only fractionally lower into Friday's open, while Boeing (NYSE:BA) shares are up 0.15%.
