Smithfield Foods (NASDAQ:SFD) launched a secondary public offering of 16M shares of common stock.
Shares will be sold by SFDS UK Holdings Limited, the company’s principal shareholder.
A 30-day option allows underwriters to purchase up to 2.4M additional shares.
Smithfield Foods will not sell any shares or receive any proceeds from the offering.
SFD shares down 5.4% premarket on Wednesday.
