亚马逊计划在越南推出Kuiper卫星服务

2025-08-27 16:54

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) plans to roll out its Kuiper satellite services in Vietnam, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the country’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

The statement came after a meeting in Hanoi between deputy minister Pham Duc Long and Gonzalo de Dios, Amazon’s head of global licensing and Project Kuiper, the news outlet said.

The U.S. tech giant has committed to investing $570 million by 2030 to develop infrastructure, including up to six ground stations and terminal manufacturing in Bac Ninh province through local partnerships, the ministry said.

Amazon has also registered a local entity, Amazon Kuiper Vietnam Co., Ltd., based in Ho Chi Minh City, and has applied for approval to provide low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite services.

Project Kuiper aims to deliver broadband internet via LEO satellites to underserved and remote regions, including islands. Amazon’s pilot program seeks a five-year license to serve consumer, business, and government customers.

Rival SpaceX's (SPACE) Starlink has already received approval for a similar five-year rollout in Vietnam.

In April, Amazon launched its first 27 Kuiper satellites from Florida, marking the start of its long-delayed satellite internet network deployment.
