- Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) posted record global sales in the first half of 2025, driven by strong demand for hybrid vehicles in key markets, which helped offset the impact of U.S. tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
- The company reported a 7.4% increase in global sales—including subsidiaries Daihatsu and Hino—to over 5.5 million units from January to June.
- Growth was fueled primarily by demand in the U.S., Japan, and China. The world’s biggest automaker's production rose 8.8% to 5.5 million units.
- For June, global sales rose 1.7% to 867,906 vehicles, and production was up 7.4% at 854,565 cars.
