谷歌数字广告试验在德克萨斯州推迟

  • A federal judge in Texas agreed to delay a jury trial that deals with Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) digital advertising practices.
  • The trial was set to start on August 11.
  • Judge Sean Jordan granted Google's (NASDAQ:GOOGL) motion for the delay believing that final resolution of a similar case against the company in a Virginia federal court could narrow the scope of the issues in the Texas case.
  • In April, the Virginia judge ruled that the Department of Justice had demonstrated that the tech giant has held a monopoly in online advertising technology in at least two markets, adding that it dominated ad spaces by having an illegal stronghold in markets for publisher ad servers and the market for ad exchanges. Google has appealed the decision.
  • Judge Leonie Brinkema later set Sept. 22 as a trial date to discuss potential remedies from both sides.
  • Court documents in Texas show plaintiffs, which include Texas, 16 other states, and Puerto Rico, are seeking more than $100B, Reuters reported.
