Enthusiast Gaming (TSX:EGLX:CA) has appointed Alex Macdonald as chief executive officer, effective July 6, 2025.
Macdonald had been serving as chief financial officer since January 1, 2025, and previously from 2019 to 2023.
Meanwhile, JB Elliott has been appointed president and chief operating officer and Nathan Teal was appointed interim chief financial officer.
The company also announced that it has entered into a letter of intent with an entity controlled by Adrian Montgomery whereby the purchaser has proposed to acquire the direct sales business carried on by the company, being primarily comprised of Omnia Media, GameCo Esports Canada and those assets and contracts of the company specifically related to the direct sales business currently operated within Enthusiast Gaming.
The proposed consideration for the transaction includes a purchase price of $1M. In addition, the purchaser will assume certain liabilities and commitments related to the acquired entities and the direct sales business line.
The transaction is expected to result in about $10M of cost savings on an annual basis, resulting in material improvements in Adjusted EBITDA and providing significant working capital benefits to the Company.
