• French train manufacturer Alstom (OTCPK:ALSMY) awarded a contract worth €2 billion (approximately $2.4 billion) by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
• This major deal involves the supply of M-9A railcars for the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad.
• The contract, which MTA announced in June, would be booked in Q2 of the fiscal year 25–26.
• Alstom (OTCPK:ALSMY) pilot railcars will be delivered in 2029 and go into passenger service on the Long Island Rail Road in 2030. It further said that delivery of all 316 railcars included in this order was anticipated by 2032.
