Performance Shipping (NASDAQ:PSHG) has signed a 4-year time charter agreement with Mercuria Energy Trading for its fourth newbuild LR1 tanker.
The charter begins upon vessel delivery in early 2027 and runs through early 2031.
The daily gross charter rate is set at $23,750, with yearly rate increases for optional extensions.
Optional extensions: 1st and 2nd years add $850/day each; 3rd year adds $1,200/day.
The contract is expected to generate earnings above breakeven, boosting revenue visibility beyond 2027.
PSHG shares fall 3.3% premarket on Tuesday.
