Databricks宣布以约10亿美元收购数据库初创公司Neon

2025-05-14 20:18

  • Databricks, the data warehousing company that competes with Snowflake (NYSE:SNOW), announced a deal on Wednesday to acquire database startup Neon for roughly $1B.
  • The deal allows Databricks to deploy artificial intelligence agents more rapidly, as it seeks to entrench itself further in the $100B database market.
  • “The era of AI-native, agent-driven applications is reshaping what a database must do,” said Ali Ghodsi, Co-Founder and CEO at Databricks in a statement. “Neon proves it: four out of every five databases on their platform are spun up by code, not humans. By bringing Neon into Databricks, we’re giving developers a serverless Postgres that can keep up with agentic speed, pay-as-you-go economics and the openness of the Postgres community.”
  • Neon's team is expected to join Databrick after the deal closes, the company added.
  • Databricks raised $10B in a Series J funding round in December 2024, which valued the company at $62B.
