Monday - January 13
- Volatility watch - Rigetti Computing (RGTI) and SEALSQ (LAES) have a high level of implied volatility based on options trading. Kohl's (KSS) and SolarEdge Technologies (SEDG) are near the top of the list of stocks with the highest level of short interest outstanding on them. The most overbought stocks per their 14-day relative strength index include fuboTV (FUBO), Star Fashion Culture (STFS), Accolade (ACCD). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Martin Midstream Partners (MMLP), Apogee Enterprises (APOG), and Smith Douglas Homes (SDHC).
- All week - The week ahead includes three heavyweight conferences. The ICR retail conferences of the year will include participation from Walmart (WMT), Shopify (SHOP), US Foods (USFD), Denny's (DENN), Planet Fitness (PLNT), Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), and Macy's (M) to name a few. ICR typically includes a flurry of holiday sales updates and full-year guidance updates that have led to sizable share price swings in the past. The Needham Growth Conference will include prominent participants such as MaxLinear (MXL), Gannett (GCI), Atomera Incorporated (ATOM), BlackSky Technology Inc. (BKSY), and IonQ (IONQ). The healthcare sector will have its eyes on the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, with dozens of companies due to present.

Tuesday - January 14
- Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include Applied Digital (APLD).
- 8:30 a.m. The Producer Price Index report will be released by The Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- 10:00 a.m. Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Jeffrey Schmid will speak on the economic and monetary policy outlook before the Central Exchange.
- 1:00 p.m. Shareholders of Gatos Silver (GATO) and First Majestic (AG) will vote on the planned merger of the company.
- 3:00 p.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will give opening remarks before the 4th Annual "An Economy That Works for All: Housing Affordability" event.
Wednesday - January 15
- Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC), BlackRock (BLK), Citigroup (C), Goldman Sachs (GS), Kinder Morgan (KMI) and Bank of New York Mellon (BK).
- All day - The FDA action dates arrives for Atara Biotherapeutics' (ATRA) Tabelecleucel (Tab-cel) treatment.
- Oil watch - The IEA and OPEC will publish their monthly oil reports.
- 8:30 a.m. The December Consumer Price Index report will be released by The Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- 10:00 a.m. Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari will give welcome remarks and participates in a fireside chat before the virtual Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis 2025 Regional Economic Conditions Conference.
- 11:00 a.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will give a keynote talk before the Connecticut Business and Industry Association Economic Summit and Outlook 2025.
- 2:00 p.m. The Federal Reserve will release its Beige Book Report. The report will summarize current economic conditions across the Fed's districts.
Thursday - January 16
- Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include Taiwan Semi (TSM), UnitedHealthcare (UNH), Bank of America (BAC), Morgan Stanley (MS), U.S. Bancorp (USB), J.B. Hunt (JBHT), and M&T Bank (MTB).
- M&A watch - Flowco Holdings (FLOC) is expected to start trading after pricing its IPO. The firm provides production optimization wellhead products and services for the oil & gas exploration industry.
- All day - RLI Corp (RLI) will begin trading on a split-adjusted basis following the company's two-for-one stock split.
- 8:30 a.m. The December Retail Sales Report will be released.
- 8:45 a.m. UnitedHealth Group (UNH) will hold its earnings conference call in management's first appearance in front of analysts since the murder of CEO Brian Thompson.
Friday - January 17
- Earnings watch - Notable companies due to report include Regions Financial (RF), Schlumberger Limited (SLB), and Truist Financial (TFC).
- 8:30 a.m. The December Housing Starts report will be released by the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
